Description

Woodham Petroleum Services is a family owned, independent fuel distributor with operations across Queensland and New South Wales. As part of our continued growth and investment in our Townsville operations, we are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to support our workshop team.

About the Role

This is a newly created role and an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our Townsville workshop. The Workshop Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of workshop operations, ensuring our fleet and equipment are maintained safely, efficiently, and in line with operational requirements.

Working closely with Operations, Depot Managers, Drivers, and external suppliers, you will play a key role in maximising fleet availability, improving maintenance processes, and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the servicing, maintenance, and repair of company vehicles, trailers, and equipment

    • Coordinate workshop schedules and prioritise maintenance activities

    • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

    • Manage workshop inventory, parts, and supplier relationships

    • Monitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities for improvement

    • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting

    • Support breakdown response and fleet availability across operations

    • Drive a strong safety culture and promote continuous improvement

Qualifications and Skills

    • Previous experience in a Workshop Manager, Leading Hand, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, or similar role

    • Strong understanding of heavy vehicle maintenance and workshop operations

    • Proven leadership and people management skills

    • Strong organisational and problem solving abilities

    • Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence

    • Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or a related field is highly desirable
