Women’s Housing Company (WHC) is a registered charity and Tier 1 Community Housing
Provider delivering safe, secure and affordable housing for women and their
families across NSW. We manage over 1,200 properties and support more
than 2,200 women and children each year through housing and specialist
homelessness services.
We take a women‑centred, trauma‑informed approach, with a strong focus on
older women, women with children, survivors of domestic and family violence,

About
the Role
The
Tenancy Manager is responsible for delivering comprehensive, client‑focused tenancy and property management
services, providing exceptional customer service across an allocated portfolio
of properties. This role ensures all tenancy management activities comply with
relevant legislation, contractual requirements, and the policies and procedures
of the Women’s Housing Company (WHC).
Key
Accountabilities
- Manage and sustain tenancies by providing
high quality, trauma informed and client focused tenancy management and support
the provision of quality homes in the portfolio.
- Provide intensive tenancy management and
support to tenants to sustain their tenancies by maintaining relationships with
support providers and linking tenants to programs that improve tenant outcomes
and sustain their tenancies
- Maintain high levels of customer
satisfaction by ensuring the timely response to tenant enquiries, complaints
and grievances and encourage participation in tenant feedback and survey
opportunities.
- Ensure the portfolio meets its financial
goals and KPI targets through the effective management of rent and non-rent
arrears, former tenant debt, property inspections, property viewings and lease
signings to support the void and vacancy timeframes.
- Support the business to enhance community
development and tenant engagement programs by promoting and supporting the
implementation of relevant programs throughout the portfolio.
- Support the Tenancy Services team to meet
its compliance and legislative obligations by ensuring the timely and accurate
recording of tenant information in the IT system(s) and maintaining strict
adherence to operational and workplace policies and procedures.
Qualifications,
Experience & Knowledge
- Social Work Degree and/or Certificate IV in
Social Housing, Real Estate License or equivalent
- Experience in working with vulnerable people
experiencing homelessness, rough sleepers, people experiencing domestic and
family violence and mental health issues
- Experience in tenancy management in the
community housing sector
- Thorough knowledge of the Residential
Tenancies Act
- Understanding of social support service
system
- Experience at NSW Civil and Administrative
Tribunal (NCAT)
- Intermediate skills in all Microsoft Office
2010 applications
- Good written and verbal communication skills
including interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate
- NSW Driver’s license
- Mandatory National Police Check and
willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check
- Ability to work collaboratively within a
team
- Full, unrestricted Australian working
rights.
