About the Role
Business Development Manager
📍 Bowen, Collinsville & North Mackay | 🚗 Company Vehicle | 💼 Full-Time
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Business Development Manager to join our team based in The Whitsundays! Working Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, both from our Cannonvale Depot and on the road visiting customers.
You will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing customer accounts, and building strong relationships within the foodservice and hospitality sector. Playing a critical role in maintaining the reputation of Whitsunday Foodservice as a trusted partner for our customers while supporting business growth through effective account management and sales initiatives.
What you’ll do:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of customers across the Bowen, Collinsville & Mackay region
- Build strong, long-term relationships with hospitality and foodservice clients
- Promote and sell a broad range of foodservice products
- Meet sales targets and support business growth initiatives
- Use CRM tools to track leads, sales, and customer interactions
- Visit customers regularly as per your journey plan
- Handle customer enquiries and issues promptly and professionally
- Stay up to date with market trends and customer insights
What We’re Looking For:
This role is ideal for a proactive, customer-focused individual with excellent communication and relationship-building skills who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
You might be an experienced sales rep, or someone from the hospitality or retail sector with great people skills and a passion for food. We’re open to different backgrounds and are happy to train the right person.
Applicants must have valid Australian work rights (no sponsorship opportunity’s available), a full unrestricted driver’s licence is required for this position to operate the company vehicle.
Key qualities include:
- Experience managing accounts and building long-term customer relationships
- Friendly, personable, positive, and confident with a people focus.
- Good computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office and CRM tools.
- Strong numerical skills for pricing and quoting
- Proactive and self-directed with exceptional time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliverables consistently.
- Professional presentation and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proven ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Motivated, target-driven, and eager to learn and improve
- Availability to work during school holiday periods
- Knowledge of the Whitsundays Region and Foodservice Industry advantageous
