Position: Finance Manager- North America

Based at our Global Headquarters in Melbourne, this role offers the opportunity to work at the centre of an international finance function while partnering closely with senior leaders across our North American operations.
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager – North America to join our Group Finance team and play a key role in supporting our North American operations, including Wellcom, thelab and Dippin’ Sauce.
This is a highly visible role that combines financial stewardship with commercial partnering. You will work closely with operational leaders in North America and Australia to drive financial performance, improve reporting and controls, support strategic decision-making, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
The successful candidate will become a key member of the Group Finance team and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of our North American operations.
To support effective collaboration with our US leadership team and key external stakeholders, this role operates on an early-start schedule, with typical working hours of approximately 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, providing significant daily overlap with our East Coast US operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting processes for North American entities.
- Prepare and review management reports, board reporting packs, forecasts and financial analysis.
- Analyse financial and operational performance, providing meaningful insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Monitor profitability, cash flow, working capital and key performance indicators across the North American businesses.
- Support the preparation of consolidated group reporting requirements.
Commercial Business Partnering
- Partner with North American and regional business leaders to develop annual budgets, forecasts and strategic plans.
- Provide financial modelling, scenario analysis and profitability assessments to support business decisions.
- Assist operational teams with pricing, contract reviews and commercial proposals.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, process improvement and revenue enhancement.
Compliance, Tax & Governance
- Oversee statutory reporting and coordinate external audit requirements.
- Manage North American tax compliance obligations, including income tax, sales and use tax, withholding tax and other regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with federal, state and local government agencies where required.
- Ensure strong financial controls and governance frameworks are maintained across North American operations.
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banking partners and insurance providers.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and reporting.
- Support ERP implementations, upgrades and integration projects across finance and operational platforms.
- Enhance reporting capabilities and improve the availability of timely business insights.
- Contribute to broader group finance projects and strategic initiatives.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and support members of the finance team.
- Build strong relationships across international finance teams and business units.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders on ad hoc analysis, reporting and strategic projects.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and commercial thinking.
About You
You are a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders. You are equally comfortable analysing complex financial information, improving processes and contributing to strategic business discussions.
You bring a hands-on approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, international environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- CA or CPA qualified.
- 5+ years’ experience in finance, accounting or commercial finance roles.
- Experience within a Big 4, mid-tier accounting firm and/or a multinational corporate environment.
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analytical capabilities.
- Experience managing statutory compliance and external audit processes.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Highly Regarded
- Experience supporting US or North American operations.
- Exposure to US taxation, regulatory requirements, banking, insurance or SOX compliance frameworks.
- Experience working within a multinational or global organisation.
- Exposure to ERP implementation or finance transformation projects.
- Understanding of US GAAP and multi-entity international reporting environments.
Working Hours & Location
This position is based at Wellcom’s Global Headquarters in Melbourne.
Given the close integration with our New York and broader North American operations, the role requires an early morning start each working day to maximise collaboration with US-based management, finance teams, advisors, auditors, banking partners and regulatory bodies.
Typical working hours are expected to be approximately 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, providing substantial overlap with US East Coast business hours. In return, the position offers an early finish each day and a work pattern that supports both international collaboration and personal flexibility outside traditional office hours.
The successful candidate will enjoy significant exposure to international stakeholders and will play a critical role in ensuring seamless financial management across multiple time zones.
