Senior Cost Controller

Wave International is a resource development firm with 25 + years of global experience in engineering, project delivery, project and asset management and provides project strategies and solutions across battery minerals, mineral sands, gold, bulk dry commodities and more.

We are seeking a Senior Cost Controller / Project Controls professional based in Perth, with strong expertise across the full project lifecycle and proven experience in PRISM / Contruent. This role will play a key part in leading cost control, forecasting, reporting, and change management activities, while providing strategic insights to optimise project performance.

• Key Deliverables: Lead the end-to-end cost management function across all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring robust cost control, forecasting accuracy, and commercial visibility.
• Provide strategic cost insights through detailed analysis of design changes, schedule impacts, resource utilisation, and cost drivers, identifying opportunities for optimisation and efficiency.
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of comprehensive cost, schedule, and resource variance reporting.
• Partner with Project and Study Managers to support the preparation of monthly project reports, providing clear, data-driven cost and performance insights.
• Lead reporting on man-hours, expenditure, invoicing, profitability, and margin performance, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.
• Manage and review progress claims and invoices, including reconciliation, certification, and updates to commitments and financial systems.

Skills / Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Cost Control / Project Controls, preferably within the consultancy sector.
• Demonstrated experience with Contruent / PRISM is essential.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

• Capability in Power BI to develop dashboards, reporting, and analytics.
• Schedule literacy, with proficiency in MS Project (MSP) and Primavera P6, and the ability to integrate cost and schedule data.
