The Program Coordinator will work within our Wiyanga Yanaga cluster, supporting the coordination and delivery of Waminda’s key cultural programs. The role ensures that activities are culturally safe, community focused, and aligned with Waminda’s values, while also coordinating cultural initiatives such as our language programs, women’s gatherings, NAIDOC activities, and other community-driven programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate delivery of cultural programs including Language revitalisation activities, Women’s gatherings and cultural healing initiatives, NAIDOC Week events, and other cultural programs within the Wiyanga Yanaga cluster
- Work alongside Elders and community to guide culturally appropriate program design
- Support planning, logistics, and evaluation of activities
- Strengthen cultural engagement across Waminda programs
- Build and maintain respectful relationships with community, staff, and partners
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure integrated service delivery
- Maintain accurate records, project documentation, and reporting
- Provide clear and concise updates
About You
You are organised, culturally grounded, and confident working across both community programs and project coordination. You are able to build strong relationships, work independently, and support culturally safe outcomes.
You will bring:
- Experience in project coordination, program delivery, or community development
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community, and cultural safety
- Ability to work respectfully with Elders and community members
- Strong organisational, communication, and coordination skills
- Ability to make decisions within scope and take initiative
- Experience managing competing priorities across programs
- Current driver’s licence (essential)

Desirable
- Experience in community-based research or health research projects
- Knowledge of ethical research practices involving Aboriginal communities
- Experience coordinating cultural programs or events
- Understanding of funding, reporting, and evaluation processes
