About the Role

📍Minga Bunaan Gunyah | Nowra

📍Mulliga Gunyah | Dapto

We are looking for 2 x Nabu Connectors, one based in Nowra and the other in Dapto.

The Nabu Connector plays an essential role in supporting individuals and families experiencing vulnerability to achieve improved wellbeing and stability within the Nabu Preservation and Restoration program. Working within the values and principles of Waminda, the role delivers compassionate, ethical, and family‑centred case management services that prioritise dignity, safety, and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside children, parents, and families to develop, coordinate and review family centered case plans that support safety, stability, and wellbeing
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of family needs, risk, strengths and protective factors, contribute to family focus and strengths-based planning
  • Coordinate referrals with internal and external services to support integrated care
  • Advocate with families with service systems, family voice and informed decision making
  • Monitor progress against case plans, adjust service risk to align with preservation and restoration goals
  • Uphold culturally safe, trauma‑informed, and client‑centred practices at all times

About You

You are reliable, respectful, and committed to supporting community wellbeing. You work well within a team, a family centered approach and ability to manage complexities while managing clear professional boundaries and are comfortable following direction and established processes.

You will bring:

  • Experience in child and family services, case management, family preservation.
  • Understanding of culturally safe and trauma‑informed and strengths-based practice.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures
  • A respectful, client‑centred approach
  • Current driver’s licence (essential)
  • Ability to contribute positively to a team environment

Desirable

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply
  • Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations setting.
