Waminda is seeking a compassionate and skilled Case Worker to provide high‑quality, holistic support to Aboriginal women and their children who are experiencing family and domestic violence. In this vital role, you will walk alongside women on their healing journey, offering practical case management, emotional support, court support, education, advocacy, and connections to specialist services.
What You’ll Be
Working within a strengths‑based, trauma‑informed, culturally safe framework, you will:
- Support women and children to feel safe, informed, and empowered
- Provide tailored case plans that respond to each family’s unique needs
- Offer guidance through court processes and legal pathways
- Connect families with counselling, housing, health, and wellbeing services
- Advocate for women’s rights, safety, and long‑term stability
What We’re Looking For
- You will identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander woman, bringing living experience, and cultural insight, and community-connected practice to your work
- You will hold a diploma or above qualification in Health and Social Science and/or Community Services, or at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- You will bring recent experience supporting women and children impacted by family and domestic violence, with strong skills in trauma-informed, safety-focused practice
- You will have the ability to build strong partnerships with other agencies and services
- Demonstrated confidence in managing complex case work using holistic, strengths-based, culturally approach
