If you’re the go to person for getting things organised, keeping schedules on track, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks, this role could be your perfect fit.
WALGA is seeking a reliable Administration Assistant to support our Executive Manager Advocacy, and the broader Advocacy portfolio, which includes Marketing, Events, Media and Communications, Corporate Governance, Building and Facilities and Customer Service.
This part-time role is ideal for someone looking to balance meaningful work with other life commitments, whether you’re trying to balance study with work, returning to the workforce, managing school hours, or simply just prefer a steady, part-time rhythm!
This role is worked across five days (Monday to Friday), with some flexibility in how the daily hours are arranged.
As our events and advocacy work continues to grow, we’re expanding our support team to ensure our internal operations run smoothly. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Executive Manager Advocacy and collaborate across a dynamic portfolio, coordinating meetings, communications, and supporting administrative processes that help our employees be the authoritative voice and trusted partner for Western Australian Local Government.
What you will be doing day to day.
- Providing support to the Executive Manager Advocacy including diary and inbox management, meeting coordination, and travel arrangements.
- Preparing high quality documents, presentations, and reports for both internal and external use.
- Assisting with financial administration, including processing invoices, raising purchase orders, and managing expense claims.
- Supporting the broader Advocacy team with scheduling, minute-taking, and information collation.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely data entry across relevant systems.
- Collaborating with other Administration Assistants.
Enough about us, what about you!
- You’re calm under pressure, enjoy being in a support role, and take pride in keeping things organised and running smoothly.
- You’re confident managing competing priorities, bring a mature and professional approach to your work, and enjoy refining processes to make things more efficient.
- You’re someone who is adaptable, composed during busy moments, and the kind of person others naturally rely on to get things done.
- You’re always happy to help where needed and find satisfaction in being the steady presence that keeps everything on track.
Experience in administration is essential. While knowledge of the Local Government sector is beneficial, it’s not a must. At WALGA, we value curiosity and a willingness to learn just as much.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in a stable, part-time role in a supportive and professional team. If this sounds like the right fit for your lifestyle and skills, we’d love to hear from you.
Why you’ll love working here.
