Vital Chemical is a recognized leader in sustainable environmental solutions, with expertise in erosion control, dust suppression, revegetation, and water treatment. We are currently seeking a proactive and committed Accounts Officer to support the Finance team with day to day activities.
About the Role:
As the Accounts Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, invoicing, and administrative tasks. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
We are seeking a permanent part-time team member who can commit to three days per week. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation, with the potential for additional hours and increased responsibilities as the role evolves.
Key Responsibilities:
Expense Management:
- End to end expense approval process.
- Verify and obtain all necessary approvals in line with company policy.
- Enter and code expense transactions into the accounting system ensuring high level of accuracy.
- Review and process monthly credit card statements and business fuel receipts.
Invoicing & Revenue Processing:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices ensuring all supporting documentation is attached and compliant.
- Enter and code revenue transactions into the accounting system ensuring high level of accuracy.
Administrative Support:
- Liaise with internal staff and external suppliers to resolve discrepancies or clarify details.
- Process supplier and customer credit applications and conduct reference checks as required.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the production team and other departments as required.
- Perform general office housekeeping duties to maintain a professional work environment.
About You:
- 2+ years experience in an accounts or similar finance support role.
- Proficiency in accounting software XERO and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and expense management processes.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid drivers licence.
