VDI (Vehicle Dealers International) Australia is a proudly Australian, family‑owned business and the national distributor of Yutong buses and coaches. Yutong is the world’s largest manufacturer of buses, including the world’s number one battery electric city bus, the Yutong E12. 

We are seeking a Queensland Service & Warranty Manager to join our Eagle Farm workshop and support our expanding operations nationwide. This is a hands‑on leadership role, working closely with the Service, Parts and Workshop teams while reporting to the East Coast Workshop Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing daily workshop operations while setting the standard for workmanship, safety and team performance. 

About the Role 

As QLD Service & Warranty Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating aftersales operations across service, warranty, and workshop functions, ensuring timely delivery, high-quality standards, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. 

You will build strong client relationships by managing communication, resolving issues, and driving customer satisfaction, while identifying opportunities to enhance service performance and loyalty. 

Key Accountabilities are but not limited to  

Operational Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate with Sales to agree realistic delivery timelines and manage customer expectations  
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers on job progress and updates  
  • Oversee vehicle check-in processes to ensure quality and defect-free intake  
  • Manage PDI and new vehicle preparation in line with customer specifications  
  • Coordinate third-party contractors to deliver work safely, on time, and to required standards  
  • Manage and oversee warranty repairs in line with OEM requirements and guidelines  
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, company policies, and service standards  
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment at all times  
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support retention and service growth  
  • Lead and support the service team to deliver consistent operational and customer outcomes  
  • Manage post-sales service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction and service quality  

Main Tasks  

  • Deliver agreed service targets across workshop productivity, customer satisfaction, and parts and service growth  
  • Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to identify service opportunities  Implement service standards, processes, and systems in line with internal and OEM guidelines  
  • Analyse service performance and report on key operational metrics to management
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency  
  • Plan and manage workshop capacity, staffing levels, and resource allocation
  • Oversee warranty, recall, and goodwill processes in line with compliance requirements  
  • Recruit, onboard, and performance manage service team members in line with company guidelines  
  • Support training and development initiatives to build team capability and technical skills  
  • Collaborate with Sales, Parts, and other departments to improve overall business performance  
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and waste management regulations  

Skills and Experience 

  • Automotive trade qualified preferably Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. 
  • Heavy Vehicle Workshop Management experience necessary 
  • HVRAS (Heavy Vehicle Registration Assessment Scheme) Qualified desirable. 
  • MR licence desirable 
  • Forklift ticket desirable
