The Role
We’re looking for a driven and capable Project Engineer to join our team in Wodonga, supporting the successful delivery of civil and utility infrastructure projects.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with Project Managers, site teams, and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role across the full project lifecycle – from planning and coordination through to delivery and close-out – ensuring strong performance across safety, cost, quality, and stakeholder engagement.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities
- Provide technical advice and support to site teams and stakeholders
- Monitor project progress, cost, and performance against budget and programme
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and procurement processes
- Support contract administration including variations, delays, and EOTs
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and site records
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to interpret requirements and ensure project success
- Assist in cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with contract requirements, specifications, and company standards
What you bring
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or similar
- Proven experience in civil or utility infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and project delivery
- Experience working in site-based roles within a contractor environment
- Ability to manage subcontractors, timelines, and competing priorities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across site teams and stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving capability
- Knowledge of Australian standards, legislation, and WH&S practices
