We’re looking for an astute Commercial Lead with deep experience in contract law, procurement, and large-scale project delivery to join a high-performing team in a complex infrastructure/utility environment.

 

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead the day-to-day commercial function across major programs – owning contracts, driving strategy, and influencing key business decisions. From negotiation through to delivery, you’ll ensure strong governance, manage risk, and unlock value across the project lifecycle.

  • Lead contract strategy, negotiation, and management across complex projects
  • Provide daily operational support to delivery and engineering teams
  • Provide expert guidance on Australian construction contract law and compliance
  • Drive commercial performance, cost control, and profitability
  • Oversee procurement strategies to deliver value, quality, and efficiency
  • Manage claims, variations, and dispute resolution
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing commercial team

 

What you bring

  • 7+ years of overall experience, including 2+ years of local Australian work experience
  • Proven leadership experience in large-scale infrastructure or program environments
  • Deep expertise in contract preparation, negotiation, and administration
  • Strong knowledge of Australian construction contract law
  • Advanced COINS ERP experience (or similar)
  • Sharp analytical thinking with the ability to solve complex commercial problems
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound, timely decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex commercial concepts into clear, actionable insights using technical expertise while liaising effectively with delivery and engineering teams
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
