The Role:
Based at our Carrington facility, we’ve got an opening for a mechanically minded Trades Assistant to support our fitters and mechanics on a wide range of vehicles and equipment. You’ll be helping out on everything from mine spec vehicles to vacuum trucks and service rigs — assisting with builds, servicing, repairs, fault‑finding, and general maintenance tasks.
To be considered for this role, you will
- A solid mechanical mindset — experience around Mechanical Fitters or Heavy Diesel Mechanics is highly preferred.
- Hands‑on experience working with vehicles or mobile plan
- Any hydraulic knowledge is handy (not essential)
- Able to work on your own when needed and follow instructions clearly.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable with strong time management
- Physically capable of repetitive workshop tasks — lifting, bending, twisting
- Current driver’s licence
- Able to pass a pre‑employment medical
