About the Role

We are searching for a proactive and energetic Operations Manager to join our Operations team and assist with managing our property portfolio. The Operations Manager organises, controls and coordinates the management of Urban Rest buildings and facilities across Sydney. They are responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all physical aspects of Urban Rest’s properties, to create and sustain a safe and high quality environment for our guests. Each day will never be the same as this role hosts a variety of tasks and assorted functions across all aspects of the business. The ideal candidate should hold a can-do attitude with the ability to think outside the box and continuously add value to our brand and culture. 

Responsibilities 

  • Continuously monitor operational/ticketing systems to ensure all operational tasks are assigned and completed within specified timeframes and deadlines
    • Coordinate site visits to address maintenance issues / repairs with Guest Services and/or 3rd party contractors
    • Perform basic maintenance tasks in our properties
    • Close service tickets on resolution; add relevant notes and updates for transparency to guest services
  • Project Management / Continuous Improvement 
    • Support projects to improve operational efficiency and guest experience
    • Liaise with property owners, external agents, stakeholders and housekeeping contractors
    • Rostering and monthly reporting of operating tasks and financial outcomes
  • Assist the National Projects team with onboarding new properties
    • On-site coordination of furniture delivery and removal
    • Connect TV and internet
    • Complete onboarding checklists 
    • Enter relevant property information into our database(s) 
  • Quality control
    • Oversee quarterly inspections of all properties / units to maintain quality and safety standards
    • Monitor pre-stay inspections for guests
    • Control and coordinate post-inspection actions
  • Housekeeping
    • Perform stock audits of operations/housekeeping items and maintain inventory levels in collaboration with Supply Chain & Procurement functions
    • Order housekeeping stock / supplies as needed
    • Perform spot checks of cleaning quality on property; follow-up with housekeeping staff and provide training for quality improvement as required

What We Look For

  • A background in hospitality, property or operations preferred but not required
  • A proven track record of prioritising tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to identify and convey critical information to relevant team members
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively and leverage team efforts
  • Ability to take the initiative and problem solve
  • Professional demeanour and strong ability to establish positive relationships with others
  • A willingness and enthusiasm to get your hands dirty and help the team out in any way possible
  • Motivated to adopt new and emerging technologies
  • Knowledgeable with computers and software programs including Google Suite
