The Role

We are seeking applicants with training and/or previous experience supporting students with additional needs. This is a temporary full-time position commencing in Term 3 and continuing until the end of the school year. The role plays a vital part in supporting the educational development and wellbeing of young learners. The Teacher Aide will work closely with classroom teachers to foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. The successful applicant will assist in implementing learning programs and provide targeted support to students, ensuring that all learners, including those with additional needs, are equipped to achieve their full potential.

Essential Requirements

The successful applicant will be a proven educator, committed to the advancement of student learning and;

  • A commitment and/or appreciation of Islamic values, morals and Faith.
  • Have tertiary qualification in Education/Teaching or equivalent
  • Possesses strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative and an ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A high work ethic and commitment to ongoing professional development. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in the planning and implementation of educational activities and programmes.
  • Support the learning and development of students, including those with additional needs.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to foster a supportive school community.
  • Engage and motivate young children through interactive and creative learning experiences.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and cooperation.
  • Collaborate effectively with the teaching team to enhance the overall educational experience.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Experience working in early childhood education settings
  • Experience building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Experience working with children with additional needs
  • Ability to engage and motivate young children
  • Positive and inclusive attitude
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team

Unity Grammar will consider other paraprofessionals (e.g. in the process of completing or enrolled in a Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching)
