UNE Partnerships is seeking a dynamic Educator ready to inspire Year 11 students completing their CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support as part of our VET in Schools program.

The Opportunity
Based across partner schools in the Greater Newcastle and Hunter Valley region, you will deliver engaging, nationally recognised training within this HSC-integrated program – combining classroom learning with real workplace experience to set students up for immediate employment or further study.
You’ll deliver weekly face-to-face sessions during school terms and provide individual support via phone, email, and online during agreed hours, with flexibility to work from home when not on-site.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver weekly face-to-face vocational education training workshops using our proven curriculum.
- Assess student work with constructive feedback that builds confidence and competence.
- Provide personalised support via phone, email & online platforms to ensure every student succeeds.
- Maintain accurate training records & complete compliance tasks, including assessment marking.
- Develop tailored Learning Support Plans for students with diverse needs
- Proactively engaging at-risk students to help them overcome barriers and stay on track.
- Mentor & inspire students throughout their learning journey and while they are undertaking work placement.
- Collaborate with school staff & the UNE Partnerships team to create seamless learning experiences.
- Represent UNEP through school engagement activities, career expos & trainer upskilling events.
About You
Essential Requirements
Qualifications (one or more of the following):
- Certificate III in School Based Education Support
- Certificate IV in School Based Education Support
- Tertiary qualification in Teaching (Primary or Secondary) or higher
Trainer Credentials (one of the following):
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent)
- A higher qualification in adult or vocational education
- Tertiary qualification in Secondary Teaching and TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set (or a willingness to obtain)
Skills and Experience:
- Recent experience working as a teacher, SLSO or in other education support roles
- Genuine passion for empowering young people
- Unrestricted Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel between school sites
Highly Valued
- Experience delivering VET programs to school-based learners
- Confidence with digital learning platforms (Moodle, Teams, etc.)
Please note: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 3 months.
