PM Shift – Leading Hand

We are looking for a Senior Warehouse Operative to take on the role of Leading Hand working closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure the safe & efficient running of the warehouse.

You will have proven warehousing skills (including current forklift licence) & a hands on approach to lead & work with your team. Your strong organisation skills along with good team management skills & communication skills will help you to be able get the best out of your crew members.

 Our client is prominent Freight Forwarder so meeting deadlines is paramount, so understanding that the management of the stock in & out of the warehouse has no room for error.  Any understanding of import/export process will be well regarded.

Responsibilities include:

• Allocate & manage tasks across the warehouse team & truck drivers to meet daily operational goals.
• Ensure all employees follow processes for receiving & dispatching goods, including completing paperwork & data entry into the WMS system while maintaining timeliness, accuracy & compliance.
• Ensure proper allocation of cargo in chillers and freezers, maintaining correct storage practices including necessary identification documents.
• Oversee the loading, sealing & documentation of Unit Load Devices (ULDs), ensuring they are prepared correctly & in accordance with shipping regulations & company procedures.
• Maintain quality control standards to prevent errors & damages during warehouse operations,
• Conduct periodic inspections & implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs & improve service quality.
• Ensure the safety of the workplace by actively enforcing OHS policies, identify potential hazards & implement corrective actions promptly.
• Maintain effective communication with internal & external stakeholders, including providing regular updates to management on warehouse operations and addressing any issues promptly.
