We are seeking an experienced leader in centre-based education and care to lead our wonderful Whittlesea Early Learning Centre. It’s a great opportunity to showcase your leadership and change management expertise.

Whittlesea Early Learning Centre is a much-loved community-based centre with deep local connections and an exciting future.

We have a clear vision to transform our 110-place long day care centre and sessional kindergarten into a centre recognised for exemplary pedagogy and practice, with exceptional outcomes for children. We offer Bush Kinder, participate in supporting our local Community Gardens and are co-located with the Whittlesea Library, MCH and Community Activity Centre.

We are looking for an experienced Centre Director who is ready to lead a 110-place long day care centre and sessional kindergarten.

This role will appeal to an accomplished leader who enjoys building culture, mentoring teams, taking initiative and appreciates driving improvements. Someone who is seeking a new challenge and wants the support, autonomy and stability to make a genuine difference.

As Director, you will

  • Receive remuneration circa $120,00 plus super – negotiable based on experience

About the role

As Centre Director, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the centre with a focus on examplary practice, child safety and continuous improvement
  • Inspire and develop a capable and committed team
  • Build strong relationships with families and the Whittlesea community
  • Drive quality outcomes and support educators to achieve their potential
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture
  • Lead change thoughtfully and bring others with you
  • Work closely with a supportive Area Manager and specialist support teams

About you

You are an experienced Centre Director who is ready for your next professional challenge.

You understand what contemporary early years pedagogy and practice what best practice looks like and have the leadership capability to bring a team with you on the journey towards it.

You will bring:

  • At least five years’ experience as a Centre Director
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative and change management capability
  • A track record of developing teams and creating positive cultures
  • Experience building strong relationships with families, staff and communities
  • Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • A commitment to inclusion and providing high-quality early learning and care outcomes for every child
