The Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our growing team based out of our Caboolture office.

Working alongside our experienced Maintenance Manager and broader maintenance team, you will support the upkeep and presentation of more than 26 residential care and SIL properties across Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast.

 

This role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who enjoys varied work, takes pride in high standards and is comfortable working across a broad range of maintenance and handyman tasks beyond their core trade.

 

This is an opportunity for a 6-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extending. The role is fulltime and operates on a 9-day fortnight, with either a Monday or Friday off every second week.

 

The Maintenance Officer Will:

  • Carry out general property maintenance and handyman tasks across residential homes and offices 
  • Complete plastering, patching, painting and property presentation works 
  • Undertake minor repairs including basic carpentry, hardware replacements and maintenance tasks 
  • Identify and escalate maintenance, safety and compliance concerns proactively 
  • Coordinate materials and assist with job planning and completion 
  • Liaise professionally with staff, contractors and management 
  • Maintain safe, clean and compliant work practices across all sites 
  • Travel between multiple sites throughout South East Queensland as required 

 

We’re Looking For Us:

  • A trade qualification in a building, construction or maintenance-related field 
  • Demonstrated ability to work beyond your primary trade across a broad range of maintenance and handyman tasks 
  • Strong plastering and painting experience 
  • Experience in general maintenance, property maintenance or handyman-style roles 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and practical decision-making ability 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills 
  • High work standards and strong attention to detail 
  • Good time management and organisational skills 
  • Reasonable level of physical fitness 
  • Experience working across multiple sites or properties is highly regarded 
  • Experience within residential, community housing, disability or care environments is highly regarded

  • You are eligible to work in Australia, hold a current QLD driver’s licence and are eligible to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Blue Card and Child Safety suitability requirements as applicable
