About the job

The role is an integral part of supporting people with dementia and requires empathy, patience, and understanding. You will support our clients and their families by creating a safe and familiar environment in their home or ours, assisting them in maintaining routines, engaging in meaningful activities, and providing emotional support. These are essential ingredients for a person with dementia’s well-being and quality of life.

Must haves:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with people with Dementia.
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Certificate of Completion – NDIS Quality, Safety and You Module
  • Current valid driver’s licence
  • Reliable fully insured vehicle
  • Medication Competency
  • Infection Control
  • Right to Work in Australia such as passport, visa, birth certificate.
  • Cert III-IV (Preferred)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate commitment to high quality service for people we support including tending to their healthcare needs.
  • Support the rights, interests, and needs of people we support.
  • Help those we support to participate in social and leisure activities.
  • Make meaningful shift notes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of opportunities for people we support based on their goals, aspirations, interests and wishes.
  • Ensure support plans are reviewed on an on-going basis as per policy and procedure.
