Summary:

We are Expressions of Interest from highly dedicated High Intensity Disability Support Workers to join our team in Montrose, Victoria. This casual role is essential in providing high-quality support to individuals with complex needs, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting independence and dignity. Your contribution will be vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients and supporting their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high intensity personal care and daily living support
  • Assist with complex manual handling requirements, including hoist transfers
  • Deliver care for individuals with quadriplegia and high physical support needs
  • Support with respiratory care, including CPAP and oxygen management
  • Monitor and respond to changes in client condition appropriately
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plan guidelines
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and support teams
  • Ensure a safe and respectful care environment at all times

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience supporting clients with high and complex care needs
  • Strong manual handling experience, including use of assistive equipment
  • Experience with CPAP and oxygen support
  • Experience supporting individuals with quadriplegia or similar high support needs
  • Ability to provide 24/7 shift-based care (including sleepovers and active nights where required)
  • Strong communication and reliability in high pressure environments

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a complex support worker or in a similar role.
  • Relevant qualifications in disability support, health care, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and their families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of the principles of person-centred care and support.
  • Current first aid and CPR certification is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle may be required.
