Female Punjabi or Hindi Speaking Disability Support Worker – Whalan NSW

Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Punjabi or Hindi speaking Disability Support Worker to join our team in Whalan, NSW. This temporary casual role is to support a client who requires a worker who can communicate effectively in their preferred language and provide culturally sensitive, person-centred care.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting the client’s independence, wellbeing, and daily needs while building a trusting and respectful relationship.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Support clients in accessing community services and recreational activities.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other support staff.
• Document and report on client progress and any changes in their condition.
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Shift Details

• Location: Whalan, NSW
• Employment Type: Casual
• Shift: Every Friday, 4:00pm – 7:00pm (ongoing)
• Start Date: Immediate

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a support worker or in a similar role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
• Basic first aid and CPR certification (preferred).
• Willingness to undergo background checks and training as required.
