About the team/About the role:
This position sits within the Marketing & Fundraising Division (M&F) of the Cancer Council. This is a key role within the division managing identified projects and working in collaboration with key stakeholders across the organisation to support efficient and effective community engagement.
Reporting to the Divisional Project Lead, the Divisional Project Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of common tools, templates, volunteer and staff training manuals and other resources for the community-facing team to promote a consistent ways of working across M&F. They will also be responsible for managing identified priority operations and projects to support efficient and effective divisional and inter-divisional working.
The Divisional Project Specialist will work closely with the divisional leadership team to help enable the delivery of the Division’s strategy in an optimised and efficient manner.

Key responsibilities of the role:
- Support the development of the divisional strategic projects and supporting plans and process documents.
- Identify opportunities to ensure best practice implementation of Cancer Council fundraising campaigns.
- Support identified key strategic projects across the division or organisation which support consistent, efficient and effective working.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on existing business systems and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness for a dispersed workforce.
- Adhere to licensing requirements, risk assessment procedures, issues management policy and other organisational policies and procedures.
- Provide support of priority projects across the division to ensure a holistic view is taken and a coordinated approach is maintained.
- Monitor and report against project progress.
- Work collaboratively across the division and organization to involve expert contributors to optimise project outcomes.
About you:
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in operational improvement and Project Management
- Excellent ability to develop systems and processes to support efficient and effective operations · Well-developed planning, implementation and reporting & tracking skills.
- A sound understanding of relationship management and fundraising and the ability to translate this into an achievable way of working.
- Demonstrated skills in working with teams to help achieve targets and consistent ways of working.
- Visible enthusiasm and passion for Cancer Council NSW’s vision, mission and values.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities across multiple teams.
- Proven experience in the development and delivery of training programs and course materials.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Availability for and willingness to travel in and work with all communities across NSW.
Desirable:
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the charitable sector.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field
