Lead Child and Adult Safety, Child Safeguarding and Assurance Excellence Across a WA Family owned Early Childhood Education and Care provider
The Atlantis Group is seeking an experienced and values-driven Safety & Assurance Lead to join our team.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this newly established leadership position will provide organisation-wide leadership across safety, health, wellbeing, child safeguarding, compliance, governance and risk management. Working across our network of 19 services, you will influence through expertise, coaching, helping leaders develop the confidence and capability to own safety and safeguarding outcomes within their services while continuously improving the groups safety, risk and governance performance.
About the Role
The Safety & Assurance Lead maintains a group-wide view of organisational risk, safety, wellbeing and safeguarding performance across The Atlantis Group. You will identify emerging risks, strengthen governance systems, provide trusted advice to the CEO and Board, and embed a culture where safety and child protection are lived values rather than compliance obligations.
Success will be measured by the exceptional child, adult and child safeguarding performance reduction of organisational risk, the strength of our governance systems, the capability of our leaders, and the continued growth of our “Care More” culture.
Key Accountabilities & Deliverables
- Maintain oversight of safety, wellbeing, compliance and child safeguarding performance across all services and supporting actions for continuous performance improvement.
- Coach and develop Centre Managers, Centre Leadership Teams and WHS Champions to strengthen safety leadership capability and performance objectives and outcomes.
- Drive organisation-wide initiatives that strengthen governance, improve consistency and reduce risk.
- Lead the reduction of organisational risk through proactive risk identification, assurance activities and enterprise risk management.
- Lead regulatory engagement and responses with authorities including ECRU, WorkSafe WA and other relevant agencies.
- Develop and maintain organisational policies, governance frameworks, risk registers and compliance systems.
- Embed a positive “Care More” culture focused on learning, accountability, psychological safety and continuous improvement.
Skills, Attributes & Experience
- Significant experience leading safety, wellbeing, safeguarding and compliance within a complex, highly regulated, multi-site environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Work Health & Safety legislation, Child Safe Principles, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated success analysing organisational risk data and implementing systemic improvements.
- Exceptional coaching, influencing and stakeholder engagement capability.
- Ability to lead through influence, build trust and drive change without direct authority.
- Excellent analytical, report-writing and communication skills, including preparation of executive and regulatory reporting.
- A curious, solutions-focused approach and a genuine commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualification in Work Health & Safety, Risk Management, Governance, Law, Education, Human Services or a related discipline.
- Coaching qualification and/or demonstrated coaching experience.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence.
