About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and efficient payroll services across the organisation. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong numerical skills and a commitment to ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
This permanent part-time position is based in our Currambine Support Office and operates on a 3-day/2-day fortnightly roster.
You will:
- Process end-to-end payroll through Employment Hero
- Calculate employee entitlements including leave accruals, allowances, penalties, and termination payments
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, awards, and superannuation requirements
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with monthly and end-of-year reporting
- Process Employee Insurance Claims and trainee wage subsidy claims
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
- Stay informed of legislative changes and industry requirements
About You
You are an experienced payroll professional who takes pride in accuracy, confidentiality, and delivering exceptional service.
You will bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in a high-volume payroll environment
- Strong numerical aptitude and confidence working with payroll calculations, reconciliations and data analysis
- Proven ability to identify anomalies and investigate payroll variances with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong knowledge of Australian awards and payroll legislation including payroll tax, superannuation and statutory reporting
- Abilily to manage competing priorities while meeting critical payroll deadlines
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential employee information
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Experience using Employment Hero or similar payroll systems
Desirable:
• Knowledge of Fair Work compliance and industry-specific awards
• Previous payroll experience within the early learning sector
