The Tasmanian Walking Company (TWC) have been walking for over 30 years, offering amazing wilderness experiences to our guests in some of Tasmania’s most special and remote wilderness locations. We work to deliver a truly immersive experience as we create connections between people and place in remote cultural landscapes through our boutique multi-day walking experiences. Whilst our roots lie in Tassie, we operate on mainland Australia as The Australian Walking Company (AWC) and are excited to be experiencing a growth phase in the business as we introduce a number of new walks. This role is also responsible for leading the sales and marketing function for our Guided by Nature brand and international product line.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead our marketing team and drive strong marketing outcomes and performance while ensuring an exceptional guest experience from first enquiry through to booking. You will be accountable for lead generation, driving enquiries and leading our marketing team in delivering marketing solutions across our internal and external business clients and partners.
This is a full-time permanent position, based either in our Launceston or Brisbane office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement integrated annual marketing plans aligned with organisational objectives and commercial priorities.
- Act as the primary marketing advisor for internal business units, building trusted relationships, understanding stakeholder objectives, and translating business needs into strategic marketing initiatives.
- Manage and mentor the marketing team, managing campaign delivery from briefing and creative development through to implementation, optimisation and post-campaign evaluation.
- Manage cross-functional projects such as web and CRM platform development by coordinating internal teams, external agencies, consultants and suppliers to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of marketing outcomes.
- Drive digital marketing performance across websites, CRM, SEO/AIO, PPC, database marketing, social media and customer journey optimisation to maximise engagement, leads and conversions.
- Identify and grow commercial opportunities by developing partnerships, media opportunities, PR initiatives and other marketing channels that increase brand awareness, demand and revenue.
- Manage marketing budgets and resources, prioritising investment across business units to achieve measurable commercial outcomes and continuous improvement.
What you will bring
To succeed as our Marketing Manager, you should have the following skills and experience:
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ management experience in a marketing management, preferrable within the tourism industry (or equivalent).
- Excellent reporting, communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to driving measurable results and customer experience.
- Experience across a range of marketing platforms and service providers
- High level detail in budget management, data analysis and commercial measurements.
