The Role:

As a Finance Consultant in the IT industry, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and strategic guidance to enhance business performance. Based in Adelaide, South Australia, this permanent full-time position requires a detail-oriented professional who can analyse financial data and support decision-making processes. Your expertise will contribute to the overall financial health of the organisation, ensuring compliance and optimising financial strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Evaluate financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
  • Provide recommendations for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
  • Hardware & Software Sales and Invoicing.
  • Responsible for accurate revenue recognition.
  • Reconciling revenue in P&L back to source reports from Finance system (ProjectWorks).
  • Responsible for accurate coding and reporting of revenue by client.
  • Job Set up, Resourcing, and Budget checks in Finance system (ProjectWorks).
  • Timesheet chaser and approver in Finance System (ProjectWorks).
  • Invoicing – Customer Portals, Gathering Customer Reports.
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable processes, including customer payment chasing and invoice entry.
  • Processing month end adjusting journals to recognise revenue received in advance and work in progress.
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliations of the above accounts.
  • Working with Account Managers to ensure any overruns are highlighted in advance.
  • Liaising with client invoice queries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance-related role, preferably within the IT sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
