Due to continued business growth, we have created a new Payroll Manager position to lead and further develop our payroll function.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine
impact by enhancing payroll systems, processes, and capability while ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll outcomes across the business.
You will lead the Payroll team, drive continuous improvement across payroll operations and
systems, and play a key role in shaping a scalable, high-performing payroll function that supports the ongoing growth and evolution of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across the organisation.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the Payroll team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all payroll-related legislation, taxation requirements, superannuation
obligations, Modern Awards, and enterprise agreements.
- Oversee payroll systems, reporting, reconciliations, and statutory requirements, including Single Touch Payroll (STP), payroll tax, and year-end reporting.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve the overall payroll experience.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide expert payroll advice, support organisational change initiatives, and help shape a scalable payroll function for future growth.
What we’re looking for:
- Extensive payroll experience with strong knowledge of payroll legislation, the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, taxation, and superannuation requirements.
- Proven leadership capability, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing team members.
- Strong payroll systems knowledge and experience managing payroll processes within a medium to large organisation.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with a track record of identifying efficiencies and enhancing payroll systems, processes, and controls.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted
relationships across all levels of the business.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and delivering exceptional service.
