Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) is seeking an experienced and passionate TAE Trainer & Facilitator to join our Learning and Development team. Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, you’ll deliver and assess nationally recognised TAE qualifications for Surf Life Saving members, interstate participants and commercial clients.
This diverse role includes facilitation, assessment, coaching, resource development and compliance, with opportunities to deliver both face-to-face and virtual training across Queensland and interstate. You’ll play a key role in creating engaging learning experiences and supporting learner success through innovative training solutions.

What You’ll Do:
- Deliver engaging face-to-face and virtual TAE training programs
- Assess learner submissions and provide meaningful feedback
- Conduct one-on-one coaching and mentoring sessions
- Develop, contextualise and continuously improve learning and assessment resources
- Support eLearning development and Learning Management System enhancements
- Ensure compliance with the Standards for RTOs 2025 and relevant legislation
- Build strong relationships with Surf Life Saving stakeholders, learners and commercial clients
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovative learning solutions
- Travel within Queensland and interstate to support training delivery requirements
About You:
- Current Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain)
- TAE50111, TAE50116, TAE50211, TAE50216, a successor qualification, or a higher-level qualification in adult education
- Minimum two years’ experience working within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- Strong knowledge of the VET Quality Framework and Standards for RTOs 2025
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and instructional technologies
- Demonstrated commitment to child safety and safeguarding practices
- Available to work weekends in accordance with a pre-planned training schedule, with time off in lieu (TOIL) provided
- Experience delivering and developing training within the TAE Training Package (desirable)
- Experience with eLearning design and Learning Management Systems (desirable)
- PUA20119 Certificate II Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) (desirable)
- Experience working within Surf Life Saving or similar volunteer-based environments (desirable)
