About the role

We are seeking a calm, reliable and experienced Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a young woman living independently in Forster. This is a specialist role supporting a participant with complex needs, requiring consistency, structure and a proactive approach.

 

The successful candidate will be required to work sleepover shifts on premise at the participants home.

 

The role includes

• 1:1 support in home and community

• Assistance with all daily living tasks

• Support community access (shopping, outings, drives)

• Follow a structured routine and behaviour support plan

• Use calm, low-arousal and consistent support strategies

 

About the participant

• Relies heavily on routine, predictability and consistency

• Can become distressed during waiting, transitions or unexpected changes

• May engage in self-injury or property damage when overwhelmed

• Requires calm, proactive, low-arousal support at all times

 

About you

• Experience with complex behaviours / high support needs (essential)

• Calm, patient and emotionally regulated

• Confident working independently in a 1:1 setting

• Consistent, reliable and able to follow routines

• Strong communication and rapport-building skills
