About the Role

Morgan’s Grove is seeking a full-time House Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our cooperative group home, providing accommodation support services for two young adults living with complex support needs.

This is a hands-on, live-in role. The successful candidate will reside on the premises and spend the majority of their working week providing direct face-to-face support to residents, with time also dedicated to practice leadership, clinical coordination and administration.

Morgan’s Grove is supported by a multidisciplinary team including ABA technicians, speech therapists, physiotherapists and behaviour support practitioners. As House Manager you will work alongside this team on the floor.

 

Working Hours

Full-time position, with hours structured to meet the needs of Morgan’s Grove and its residents:

  • Approximately 28 to 30 hours per week of direct resident support across rostered shifts
  • Approximately 8 to 10 hours per week of practice leadership and administration
  • Flexibility to adjust shift patterns to suit resident routines and the staffing roster

Direct Support to Residents

The primary focus of the role, including personal care, therapy program implementation, behaviour support, community access and shift-based rostered work.

Coordination of Resident Support

Liaising with families, healthcare professionals and allied health providers; maintaining documentation; supporting NDIS plan processes.

Practice Leadership and Operational Duties

Leading the support team on the floor, overseeing daily operations, managing rostering and embedding quality practice across the home.

Supporting Residents in Their Chosen Lifestyle

Essential Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in the disability sector or residential care providing direct support to people with complex needs
  • Willingness to provide live-in support and care
  • Providing personal care, daily living support and rostered team environments
  • Skill in ABA program management and positive behaviour support
  • Managing self-injurious behaviours in line with NDIS standards
  • Coordinating speech therapy and physiotherapy home programs

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of person-centred care and NDIS participant needs
  • Sound knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and best practice approaches
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in complex behavioural and medical situations
  • Strong organisational, communication and relationship-building skills

Qualifications and Checks

  • Full work rights in Australia
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates (or willingness to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (or willingness to obtain)
  • Understanding of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the NDIS Code of Conduct

Desirable

  • Roster and budget management experience
  • Understanding of autism, epilepsy and cerebral palsy and the function of behaviour
  • Experience supporting young adults living with complex disabilities
