The role
- Lead the delivery of practical, future-focused civil engineering solutions across diverse projects from concept through to construction.
- Take ownership of civil engineering projects from feasibility to final delivery
- Prepare Civil DA reports and stormwater management plans that balance innovation with compliance
- Design a variety of infrastructure elements including roads, intersections, pavements, earthworks, and drainage systems
- Oversee construction phase activities including site inspections, contractor coordination, and contract administration
- Lead the development of high-quality tender and construction documentation
- Coordinate across internal disciplines and external consultants to deliver fully integrated outcomes
- Manage project budgets and ensure alignment with quality, safety, and performance standards
- Conduct site investigations and technical assessments to shape project strategy
- Review and sign off on design documentation prior to council or authority lodgement
- Act as a key liaison with architects, developers, contractors, and regulatory bodies
- Influence design reviews, risk workshops, and strategic project planning
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, templates, and workflows
- Mentor and support junior engineers to grow technical depth and confidence
About you
We are looking for an experienced, technically strong and well-rounded engineer with a passion for quality and teamwork.
You will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (essential)
- 10+ years of experience in civil engineering design and consultancy
- Strong capability in stormwater, flood modelling, and pavement design
- Working knowledge of 12D, AutoCAD, DRAINS, MUSIC, XPStorm (not essential)
- Solid knowledge of Australian Standards, planning frameworks, and engineering codes
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- RPEQ registration (or eligibility)
- Must be Australian citizen/ permanent resident
- Business development and client liaison experience (advantageous)
- Experience with Queensland based projects will be highly regarded
