Steritech is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager on a permanent, full-time basis to lead and strengthen site maintenance across our plant, equipment and facilities.

Position Overview
We are seeking a practical, hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of maintenance across our site.
This is an operational maintenance leadership role with a strong focus on keeping the site running safely, reliably and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and improving site maintenance practices, responding to breakdowns, strengthening preventive maintenance, supporting equipment reliability, and ensuring maintenance activities are planned and completed with minimal impact to operations.
While the role will contribute to continuous improvement, its primary focus is hands-on maintenance leadership, site reliability, and the effective execution of maintenance activities.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead day-to-day maintenance activities across plant, equipment, facilities and site infrastructure
- Act as a key contact for breakdowns, urgent maintenance issues and technical troubleshooting
- Ensure maintenance tasks are planned, prioritised and completed to support safe and reliable operations
- Develop, implement and improve preventive maintenance programs
- Work closely with Operations teams to schedule maintenance and minimise downtime
- Support the reliability and safe operation of sterilisation processing equipment
- Manage spare parts, tools, equipment and contractor support required for maintenance activities
- Identify recurring maintenance issues and implement practical solutions to improve reliability
- Train and support team members to build internal maintenance capability
- Maintain safe, clean and organised maintenance work areas
- Provide maintenance updates, including key risks, priorities and improvement opportunities
- Promote a safety-first, compliant and continuous improvement focused maintenance environment
Key Requirements
About You
Success in this role will come from your ability to lead maintenance from the floor. You will be comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with planning, coordination, contractor management and team leadership.
You will bring a strong practical maintenance background, sound judgement, and the ability to keep maintenance priorities focused on site reliability and operational needs. You will also be confident working in a regulated environment where safety, quality, compliance and documentation matter.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Substantial hands-on maintenance experience in a comparable role, such as Mechanical Fitter, Fitter/Turner, Maintenance Supervisor or similar
- Strong knowledge of plant, equipment, site maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting
- Demonstrated experience implementing, improving or working within preventive maintenance programs
- Experience working in a regulated, manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device or similar industrial environment
- Understanding of GMP, APVMA requirements and ISO Standards, ideally ISO 9001 and ISO 13485
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Forklift Licence
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach, support and develop others
- Strong planning, prioritisation and time management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, equipment reliability and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Vocational or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science or a related field
- Electrician Grade A licence
- Welding skills
- Quarantine Approved (QAP) certification, or willingness to obtain
- First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain
- Experience in commercial sterilisation or treatment environments, including EtO, Gamma, X-ray or E-Beam
