ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-time, permanent position based in West Perth Campus. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Course Development, with functional reporting to the Academic Registrar and Dean, Higher Education.

The Higher Education Academic Compliance Specialist supports academic compliance, accreditation, and quality assurance activities across Stanley College’s Higher Education portfolio. The role is responsible for ensuring that courses, academic policies, and supporting documentation align with TEQSA requirements, the Higher Education Standards Framework, and internal governance processes. Working closely with academic and professional staff, the successful candidate will support course development and review, accreditation submissions, policy updates, and regulatory reporting while contributing to continuous improvement and compliance across the Higher Education department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and advisory support for higher education compliance, accreditation, and quality assurance activities, including TEQSA registration, course accreditation, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Support course development and review processes to ensure course documentation, assessments, and academic materials align with regulatory standards and internal governance frameworks
  • Review, maintain, and coordinate compliance-related documentation, evidence repositories, policies, procedures, and audit materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness
  • Collaborate with academic and professional staff to identify compliance risks, provide practical guidance, and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as the key liaison between the Higher Education department and the central Compliance Office, ensuring effective communication and timely submission of compliance materials
  • Monitor regulatory updates and provide support in interpreting and applying higher education compliance requirements across courses and academic processes

Experience and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience in academic compliance, accreditation, quality assurance, or governance within the Australian higher education sector
  • Strong working knowledge of TEQSA requirements and the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021
  • Experience supporting course approvals, accreditation activities, regulatory submissions, or audit processes
  • Experience maintaining compliance registers, evidence repositories, and governance documentation
  • Familiarity with higher education course development, academic governance, or academic quality functions (desirable)
