Position Summary

  • The SME Manager is a technically capable project manager within the Delivery organization who supports project delivery (Electrical and Mechanical) across Core & Shell evelopment, fit-out projects, and infrastructure equipment implementation.
  • The role supports Project Managers and Project Directors by providing Technical insight, design review, and coordination with project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • The SME Manager also supports the coordination of technical interfaces related to LLE equipment (owner supply equipment’s), infrastructure deployment, OT security systems, BMS, and ICT integration.
  • Applicants should select one primary discipline when applying, based on their rofessional expertise: Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls / BMS, or IT / Network Systems. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and coordination across data center delivery projects.
  • Review design documents, specifications, and construction drawings to identify technical issues.
  • Provide technical support for infrastructure installation and construction activities.
  • Coordinate installation requirements for owner-supplied (LLE) equipment.
  • Support coordination of system integration across OT, BMS, and ICT systems.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities from a project management perspective in collaboration with the internal commissioning team.
  • Review construction scopes and support evaluation of contractor estimates.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and development teams.
  • Provide project reporting to the Project Director / Project Manager.

Key Details:

  • Location:  Osaka/Tokyo, Japan.
  • Travel: 15-20%.
  • Language: Native Japanese; Secondary English (Business Level – Spoken & Written).

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience
  • Professional experience in architecture, electrical, mechanical, or infrastructure-related fields. (Experience working for a design consultant, construction supervisor, or contractor)
  • Experience participating in construction projects or infrastructure/equipment implementation projects
  • Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, or vendors
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Professional working proficiency in Japanese
  • English proficiency is not required but would be considered an advantage
  • Candidates who are motivated to develop theirEnglish skills while working in an international environment are encouraged to apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering Data Centre or mission-critical IT fit-out projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in hyperscale or colocation data centre environments is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems
  • Experience in engineering design or construction management.
  • Understanding of commissioning or system start-up processes.
  • Experience working with international clients or teams
