The Position

STACK is seeking motivated Building Commissioning/Data Centre professionals to support our development of Data Center projects in Japan. This is a full-time opportunity with competitive compensation and benefits. STACK is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.

The Commissioning Manager will work as part of the STACK Data Centre Japan team and be responsible for the management of commissioning of mission critical equipment, start-up, and testing, as well as managing CxA consultants for our projects.

Commissioning Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage projects and Cx staff in progress and future projects as directed. This will include all commissioning related contractual and financial aspects in consultation with STACK management.
  • Management of CxA Consultants
  • Coordinate Cx schedule with GC, CxA and STACK internal stakeholders.
  • Development where required and review of equipment and system test scripts.
  • Review and approval of Cx L4 and 5 test scripts.
  • Attend and be an active participant in customer equipment FWT/FAT if and as required.
  • LLE Vendor coordination and management during procurement and installation.
  • Perform equipment inspection with the CxA to ensure build adherence to design.
  • Supervise the delivered, installed, and tested equipment/systems per STACK standards correctly and set to function properly for STACK customer.
  • Ligase with the Operations team for proper handover by the CxA.
  • Support design specification review, manufacturer submittals, single line drawing sets, and project schedule documentation.
  • Supervise QA/QC of all equipment installation\startup with the CxA.
  • Ensure issues when identified are raised on Cx Alloy by the CxA and closed by the CxA.
  • Manage Cx Alloy system in relation to the project at hand.
  • Assign test commissioning tasks to the CxA commissioning team.
  • Ensure Contractor/Vendors execute test scripts to confirm equipment and system operation to design specifications.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed by all on the commissioning team and at the customer site.
  • Engage with customers to ensure positive experience, goals achievement, and schedule adherence and questions answered.
  • Provide daily reports for commissioning team status during Cx L4/5 to STACK internal stakeholders.
  • Supervise facility walk downs, turnover, and punch list reviews.
  • General understanding of LEED/Greenstar specifications and requirements.
  • Duties may be increased as experience and skill allow.
  • Provide support to other regional projects as instructed.

Requirements include:

  • BS in a mechanical/electrical or engineering field or equivalent years’ experience.
  • 3 years or more of experience in commissioning and qualification in a regulated industry, or facility engineering / facility management.

  3. Data Centre Operations.
  4. Experience in use of Automated Commissioning Management System (ACxMS) systems for the management of commissioning.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP designs and schematics.
  • Knowledge of mission critical design concepts.
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Bluebeam, and Project software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Travel may be required (0-25%)
