People & Performance Advisor

Summary:

At St John Ambulance Queensland, our people and volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. We’re seeking an experienced People & Performance Advisor who brings energy, passion and influence, enjoys leading others, and is a confident communicator who can engage and motivate people.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager – People & Performance, you will:

• Provide trusted HR advice across the employee and volunteer lifecycle
• Lead and support the People & Performance Coordinator and Volunteer Onboarding Coordinator
• Manage employee and volunteer relations, grievances and complex casework
• Partner with leaders to influence positive people outcomes
• Analyse workforce trends and champion smarter, tech enabled ways of working
• Present confidently to leaders and teams, delivering briefings, training and people initiatives

About you

You will have:

• Qualifications in HR, Business or a related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience in a generalist HR or People & Culture role
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and ER best practice
• Experience leading or supervising staff, with the ability to motivate and influence others
• Confidence presenting to groups and facilitating discussions
• Digital confidence and curiosity about automation and process improvement
• Experience with Employment Hero and the SCHADS Award (highly regarded)
