Payroll Officer
Remote | Philippines | Full-time Supporting SRG Hospitality (Australia)
SRG Hospitality is one of Australia’s fastest-growing multi-venue hospitality groups, operating a portfolio of premium dining, event and lifestyle venues across Sydney. As SRG continues to scale, we are building a robust financial support team to manage our crucial back-office operations. We are now seeking a Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist based in the Philippines to play a critical execution role within our central finance team. This is a hands-on, highly accurate role for someone who thrives on numbers, compliance, and ensuring our team and suppliers are paid accurately and on time.
The Opportunity
It is about execution excellence, financial integrity, and reliable operations. You will work closely with SRG’s Australian-based finance and venue management teams to:
- Execute accurate weekly payroll for over 200 venue and head office staff
- Own the end-to-end accounts payable process across all venues
- Ensure compliance with Australian modern awards and tax regulations
- Provide reliable financial support and service to venue managers and suppliers
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration (approx. 60%)
- Process weekly payroll every Monday for venue and head office staff across multiple sites.
- Ensure accurate calculation of ordinary hours, overtime, penalty rates, allowances, and leave entitlements under the Restaurant Industry Award.
- Reconcile rostering and time-and-attendance data from Tanda or Employment Hero against approved hours before processing.
- Manage new starter onboarding (TFN declarations, super choice forms, bank details) and process terminations (final pay calculations, ETPs).
- Lodge Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports each pay run, process weekly superannuation contributions, and assist with payroll tax, workers compensation declarations, and end-of-year finalisation.
- Respond to staff queries about pay, leave balances, and entitlements professionally and promptly.
Accounts Payable (approx. 40%)
- Own the end-to-end accounts payable process, including receiving and coding supplier invoices in Xero.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery dockets, and resolve discrepancies with venue managers and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and onboard new suppliers (ABN checks, bank detail verification).
- Prepare weekly payment runs for approval, process payments, and send remittance advices.
- Reconcile supplier statements monthly and proactively follow up on missing invoices or credits.
- Manage the AP inbox, respond to supplier queries, and assist the Finance Manager with month-end AP close, accruals, and BAS preparation.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- 1-3 years’ experience in a payroll and/or accounts payable role.
- Hands-on experience with Xero is essential.
- Solid Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas).
- Strong numeracy and an eye for detail — you spot the $4.27 variance before anyone else does.
- Able to manage competing deadlines and keep cool when 200+ staff need to be paid every Monday.
- Discreet and professional when handling confidential information.
- Clear written and verbal English communication skills.
Highly Regarded
- Experience within hospitality, retail, or another multi-site environment.
- Hands-on experience with Tanda and/or Employment Hero strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of the Restaurant Industry Award 2020 (or willingness to learn quickly).
- Qualifications in Accounting and Bookkeeping, or progress toward a relevant qualification.
Why Join SRG Hospitality?
- Work with a premium Australian hospitality group with strong growth plans.
- Stable, long-term role (not freelance or task-based).
- Exposure to comprehensive Australian payroll, compliance, and finance systems.
- Clear expectations, structured workflows, and strong leadership support.
- Opportunity to grow into senior finance roles as SRG scales.
Salary & Employment
- Competitive Philippines-based salary, aligned to Payroll / AP Specialist benchmarks.
- Full-time, remote role.
- Long-term opportunity with performance-based growth.
If you are a detail-driven finance specialist who enjoys executing clean, reliable, and compliant financial workflows that directly support business operations, we would love to hear from you.
