About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Quality, Risk &
Compliance Officer to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days per week)
on a fixed term 2-year contract with the opportunity to renew. Reporting
directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in ensuring Space for Life
meets all NDIA and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements, while
driving a culture of continuous quality improvement across the organisation.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on detail,
enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about making a genuine difference in
the disability services sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure
organisational compliance with NDIA and NDIS Quality and Safeguards
Commission standards
- Lead
and coordinate internal and external audits, working closely with Team
Leaders, Senior Team Leaders, House Leads and the Operations Manager
- Maintain
the internal audit schedule and proactively prepare the organisation for
external audits
- Identify
risks and gaps in current policies, procedures and documentation, and lead
updates to close them
- Manage
and update the Continuous Improvement and Risk Management Registers
- Oversee
the resolution of internal and external complaints relating to service
quality
- Manage
reportable incidents and complaints from the NDIS Commission
- Collaborate
with Service Coordinators to ensure participants’ Support Plans, Behaviour
Support Plans and Risk Assessments remain current
- Lead
regular meetings on quality, risk and continuous improvement
About You
You’re an experienced compliance or quality professional
with a strong understanding of the NDIS environment and a genuine commitment to
person-centred care. You’ll bring:
- Demonstrated
experience as a Risk and Compliance Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, or
in a similar role
- Working
knowledge of quality, risk, safeguarding practices and continuous
improvement frameworks
- Experience
within NDIS or disability services
- Relevant
experience in policy development
- Sound
knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards
- Excellent
written communication skills and high attention to detail
- Strong
organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work
autonomously and meet deadlines
- Intermediate
Microsoft Office skills
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Cert
IV or higher in Human Services, Business, Risk or Quality Management, or
Internal Audit (relevant field)
- Certificate
IV in Disability (highly regarded but not essential)
- Current
Class C Driver’s Licence
- Current
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Full
Australian working rights
Desirable:
- Knowledge
of access and equity issues, legislation and services for culturally and
linguistically diverse communities
