🌟 Project Engineer – Take Sunday Creek from drawings to delivery
Monday – Friday | 5:2 Roster | Sunday Creek, VIC
Permanent | Operations Team | Start July 2026
As Sunday Creek moves from exploration into decline development and surface construction, we need a hands-on Project Engineer to keep our infrastructure works delivered on time, to spec and to standard.
Why SXGC?
Because your work here matters.
SXGC is a growing company moving from exploration into active development of one of Australia’s most exciting gold and antimony discoveries. For an engineer, that means real work – civil, structural, mechanical and services scopes happening in parallel, with decisions that actually land in the ground. We offer Monday – Friday site-based work with working from home flexibility, a strong safety culture and a small senior team where your judgement matters.
About the Role
Reporting to the Projects Manager, the Project Engineer supports technical delivery of surface and underground infrastructure works at Sunday Creek. You’ll translate drawings, permits and workplans into day-to-day field execution – coordinating with contractors, running inspections and keeping documentation tight across civil, structural, mechanical and services scopes.
What You’ll Drive
🔸 Engineering coordination – drawings, RFIs, document register, ITPs and hold points
🔸 Contractor interface – site walks, field inspections and on-site quality checks
🔸 Daily and weekly progress reporting, cost tracking and as-built records
🔸 Regulatory submissions for Resources Victoria, EPA and other agencies as required
🔸 Operational infrastructure delivery – power and water are critical
🔸 Coordinating across multi-disciplinary work packages as priorities shift
🔸 Safety, environment and compliance leadership in the field
Who You Are
You’re a site engineer at heart – comfortable on a site walk and equally at home turning a drawing markup into a clean RFI. You move fast without losing rigour, communicate honestly with contractors and the office, and you understand that every decision in the field has downstream consequence.
Your Background
✔ Engineering degree (Civil, Mechanical, Mining, Structural, Process or Electrical)
✔ 3–5+ years’ construction or mining project delivery, site-based
✔ Confident reading and applying engineering drawings, specs and standards
✔ Strong working knowledge of quality systems, ITPs and non-conformance management
✔ Familiarity with Victorian / Australian WHS and environmental regulatory frameworks
✔ Strong written and verbal communication; clean technical correspondence
✔ Comfortable working autonomously in a remote site environment
✔ Highly regarded: underground mining exposure and industrial automation experience
