About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and capable Lead Support Worker (LSW) to provide house‑level operational leadership across multiple Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes.
This role is ideal for an experienced support professionals who enjoy leading from the floor, supporting staff, and ensuring consistently high‑quality, participant‑centred service delivery.
The position plays a key role in maintaining safe, compliant, and well‑functioning SIL environments while supporting continuity of care across houses based on coverage and operational needs.
The Lead Support Worker reports to the Care Portfolio Manager and works closely with the broader care, rostering and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide house‑level operational leadership across multiple SIL homes
- Ensure daily supports align with participants’ NDIS Plans, Care Plans and Behaviour Support Plans
- Support staff to deliver safe, respectful, and participant‑centred care
- Act as a point of escalation for day‑to‑day operational issues within houses
- Support behavioural risk management and early escalation of concerns
- Oversee shift documentation and ensure records are accurate and audit‑ready
- Assist with medication oversight and health coordination as required
- Support onboarding and mentoring of support workers
- Maintain safe, clean and well‑organised home environments
- Work flexibly to support staffing coverage, continuity of care and operational priorities
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in Supported Independent Living or complex care environments
- Experience working with Behaviour Support Plans and behaviours of concern
- Medication administration competency
- Strong communication, documentation and organisational skills
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in a senior, lead or shift‑lead support role
- Experience supporting participants with high‑intensity needs
- Knowledge of NDIS compliance and reporting requirements
