Description

Want to make a meaningful impact every day?

For more than 130 years, SensesWA has supported the Western Australian community through person-centred, inclusive and meaningful services. Guided by our values of being Authentic, Courageous, Inclusive and Curious, we are committed to creating an environment where both our clients and our people can thrive. We warmly welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people from diverse cultural backgrounds, people of all genders and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

As part of our Allied Health team, you will join a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment focused on helping people communicate, connect and live more independently. This opportunity is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and offers strong clinical support, professional development and flexible working arrangements. You will be supported to deliver evidence-based, person-centred therapy across homes, schools, workplaces, community settings and our hubs.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based therapy services to children, adolescents and adults with a range of communication, swallowing and developmental needs. Client groups can be tailored to your preferences, as not all clinicians wish to work across all age ranges. Working within a supportive transdisciplinary team, you will help clients achieve meaningful goals that improve participation, independence and quality of life.

This community-based role offers variety, flexibility and the opportunity to grow your clinical skills within a collaborative allied health environment. You will have the flexibility to work across paediatric and/or adult caseloads, with opportunities to tailor your work based on your interests and experience.

Why Join SensesWA?

  • Structured onboarding with gradual caseload build-up, intensive training and ongoing clinical supervision
  • Manageable caseloads that support sustainable workloads and quality client outcomes
  • Flexible and varied caseloads across children, adolescents, adults and seniors, tailored to your interests and strengths
  • Diverse service delivery across homes, schools, workplaces, community settings and therapy hubs
  • Strong multidisciplinary support from senior clinicians and allied health leaders
  • Professional development opportunities including paid training leave and external training allowance
  • Flexible work arrangements with office and work-from-home options
  • Paid travel time and kilometre reimbursement for community-based work
  • Opportunities to specialise and progress into senior or clinical leadership pathways
  • Access to quality systems, technology and therapeutic resources to support your clinical work

What You Will Bring

  • You will bring a person-centred and collaborative approach, strong clinical reasoning skills and a passion for supporting positive outcomes for people with disability and their families, along with the essential requirements outlined below.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
  • Ability to assess, plan and deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services across a range of settings
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients, families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Previous experience working with people with disability is highly desirable, but not essential
  • Current WA Driver’s Licence
  • Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening and First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Australian working rights
