Description

Camera assistants support the camera team by maintaining and setting up equipment, assisting with shot setups, managing media cards, and ensuring continuity. Their role is crucial for the smooth operation of the Camera Department, allowing the camera operators and directors to focus on capturing high-quality footage efficiently. Working within the Camera Department, you’ll provide support to the camera operators and supervisors in various tasks essential for a successful shoot.

The below may be part of your core responsibilities

  • Maintenance and upkeep of all camera equipment
  • Assisting in setting up shots and preparing cameras and equipment
  • Assisting in operating all cameras in use on the shoot
  • Coordinating the handover of media cards
  • Keeping notes on every shot to ensure continuity in footage
  • Operating the clapperboard
  • Managing camera logs
  • Conducting camera tests
