SQ Attachment Q2 2026: Assistant Hair/Make-Up Artist

Working closely with the director to understand the style of the story, the Hair and Make-Up (HMUA) Department help actors portray their characters by using hair and make-up to create a look. The team work creativity to help create and apply masks, make-up, SFX make-up, wigs, prosthetics, or other ways of transforming an actor’s appearance for a role. In assisting the HMUA team you will provide support in their day-to-day work and gain a deeper understanding of the department.

The below may be part of your core responsibilities

• Script breakdown
• Taking photos and notes for continuity
• Maintenance of the trailer and stations
• Assisting the HMUA standbys
• Cleaning and storing equipment
• Preparing kits and prepping for character looks
• Working with the camera department on test shots
• Assisting with wig and prosthetic fittings
• Administrative support
