At Steel Builders, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on solving complex challenges, enjoys working on high-value projects, and wants to play a key role in driving success within the residential market.
Reporting to the Sales Manager – NSW, you’ll work on the estimating process for complex residential steel projects while providing technical support and mentoring to the broader estimating team.
Working closely with Sales, Operations and our customers, you’ll help develop pricing strategies that maximise opportunities and deliver outstanding outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing accurate estimates and quotations for complex, high-value residential projects
- Developing pricing strategies in collaboration with the Sales team to improve conversion and profitability
- Providing technical guidance and support to customers, builders and internal stakeholders
- Reviewing and validating complex estimates prepared by other team members
- Mentoring and developing junior estimators, sharing knowledge and best practice
- Building strong relationships with customers by providing trusted technical advice and solutions
About You
You’ll be an experienced estimator with a strong technical background and the confidence to lead complex projects.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Previous estimating experience within the structural steel, fabrication, construction or manufacturing industry
- Strong ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings
- Excellent commercial acumen with a focus on accuracy and profitability
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to mentor others and contribute to a high-performing team
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia are essential
