We are seeking a Project Engineer to support upcoming work across Western Australia.

The Role

This is a hands-on delivery role. You will take ownership of key project scopes from planning through to closeout. You will be expected to take ownership, resolve issues early and keep delivery moving without constant direction, including running scopes with limited input from a Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve design, commercial and delivery issues early
  • Manage subcontractors, procurement and materials
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with HSQE requirements and promote a strong safety culture on site
  • Track costs, forecasts and variations
  • Oversee site progress and keep works moving
  • Maintain reporting and support project closeout

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in civil construction or utilities
  • Background as a Project or Site Engineer with increasing delivery responsibility
  • Strong understanding of programme, cost and subcontractor management
  • Review technical drawings and specifications, identifying risks, errors and variations
  • Practical and comfortable on site, preferring to stay close to the works
  • Commercially aware, with experience in cost tracking, variations and reporting
  • Takes ownership and makes decisions to keep projects moving
  • Adapts quickly and works effectively in a fast-moving, less structured environment
  • Willing to work across both metro and regional WA projects, including working away from home when required

Why Join Saltire

  • Growing presence across water infrastructure across WA
  • Real ownership of project scopes and outcomes
  • Work in a business where decisions are made quickly and work keeps moving
  • Opportunity to step up quickly based on performance
  • Additional annual leave after 5 years’ service
  • 2 wellness days per year
