SafeGauge is looking for a hands-on Supply Chain Planner to bring forward planning, visibility and control across our growing manufacturing operations.
This is a key coordination role sitting between Operations, Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Servicing and Logistics. You will take demand and turn it into an actionable supply and production plan — making sure materials, manufacturing orders, assemblies, BOM changes and freight activities are coordinated before they become urgent.
We are looking for someone who enjoys connecting the dots, working across multiple priorities and keeping work moving from demand through to production and dispatch.
The role:
Reporting to the Production and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the operational flow between demand, materials, production and logistics.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Supply and production planning
- Translate sales demand, forecasts and priority requirements into forward supply and production plans
- Review MRP requirements, stock levels, lead times and future demand to identify shortages and risks early
- Create and release manufacturing orders and assembly orders in line with production requirements
- Plan kit assemblies and help maintain appropriate finished goods and kit availability
- Maintain clear visibility of upcoming production requirements, constraints and priorities
- Escalate material shortages, capacity risks and delivery issues before they affect customer commitments
Materials and purchasing support
- Provide Purchasing with clear, forward-looking requirements based on demand, stock, lead times, minimum order quantities and existing supply
- Monitor expected delivery dates and expedite critical components where required
- Track supply risks and ensure changes are communicated to the relevant teams
- Support the ongoing improvement of planning parameters and inventory settings
BOM and change coordination
- Coordinate the operational implementation of released BOM revisions and product changes
- Ensure approved changes are reflected in manufacturing and assembly requirements
- Help prevent outdated components, incorrect assemblies and BOM changes from being missed
- Work closely with Engineering and Purchasing to ensure released changes flow correctly into operations
Technical and engineering decisions remain with Engineering; this role owns the planning, coordination and follow-through.
Logistics and order flow
- Coordinate domestic, international and servicing freight bookings
- Prepare and coordinate shipping documentation, including commercial invoices
- Support Certificate of Origin, Free Trade Agreement and Chamber of Commerce documentation requirements
- Maintain visibility of orders and shipments through to dispatch
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure products are ready when freight is booked
Planning and operational control
- Maintain accurate planning data within ERP and operational systems
- Provide clear reporting on shortages, late supply, upcoming demand and production risks
- Follow issues through to resolution rather than simply passing them between departments
- Help improve the systems and processes that support a growing manufacturing business
About you
You may currently be working as a:
- Supply Chain Planner
- Materials Planner
- Production Planner
- Manufacturing Planner
- Inventory Planner
- Supply Chain Coordinator ready to step into a broader planning role
You will ideally have:
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, electronics or another product-based environment
- Practical experience with MRP, ERP, production planning or materials planning
- A good understanding of BOMs, inventory, lead times, shortages and purchasing requirements
- Strong Excel and systems skills
- Experience creating or managing manufacturing and assembly orders
- The ability to work across multiple departments and keep actions moving
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger operational picture
- The confidence to raise risks early and challenge unrealistic dates or assumptions
Experience with Cin7, Odoo or similar ERP/MRP systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
A degree is not essential. We value practical manufacturing and supply chain experience, strong systems thinking and the ability to make things happen.
You will enjoy this role if you…
- Naturally look ahead instead of waiting for problems to arrive
- Want to understand the full flow of a product, not just one small part of the process
- Like turning scattered information into a clear plan
- Are comfortable working in a growing business where priorities can move quickly
- Ask questions when something does not make sense
- Take ownership and follow things through
Why join SafeGauge?
This is an opportunity to step into a role with genuine visibility and impact across the business.
You will work closely with Operations, Production, Purchasing and Engineering and play a key role in building a more proactive and scalable supply chain planning function.
This is not a role where you will simply update spreadsheets or chase purchase orders all day. We are looking for someone who can help us move from reacting to shortages and urgent requirements to seeing what is coming and planning for it.
Apply with your resume and a brief explanation of your experience in manufacturing, production planning, materials planning or supply chain coordination.
