About Us

Rural Alive and Well is a Tasmanian not-for-profit organisation, building mentally healthy and resilient rural communities to reduce the prevalence of suicide in ages 14 years and above.

  • RAW supports Tasmanians that live in rural & remote areas and/or that work in primary industries.
  • RAW provides practical support to these people, in the form of community connection (Recognising the signs), brief interventions (Asking for help) and individual case management (Working together).
  • RAW demonstrates a genuine understanding of the people, and their rural context.

 

About the Role

This is a 0.6 FTE position. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational functions of the organisation to ensure the effective, efficient, and sustainable delivery of services that support positive mental health and wellbeing outcomes within the community.

Part of the Leadership Team, this role works closely with leadership and frontline teams. The Operations Manager drives operational excellence, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and ensures organisational systems, processes, and resources are aligned with strategic objectives. The role plays a critical part in supporting staff, strengthening organisational capability, and maintaining a safe, collaborative, and values-driven workplace.

Core areas of responsibility include:

  • Continuous Improvement of Systems & Processes.
  • Compliance and reporting – including reporting to funding bodies.
  • Operational Management – quality management and accreditation.
  • Team and Development – create a positive inclusive culture and facilitate effective communication across teams and organisational functions.

About You

This role is suited to an individual who has management experience and wants to contribute strongly to a purpose driven organisation. You will love working with people, optimising systems and processes, and have a passion to build team capacity in delivering organisational outcomes.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in Business Management, Operations Management, Community Services, Human Services, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
  • NFP experience or the ability to adapt to the environment.
  • Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, compliance and operations management.
