For more than 140 years, RSPCA Queensland has been a leading animal welfare charity, dedicated to improving the lives of animals – whether domestic, farmed, or native. We care for over 42,000 animals annually, relying on the generosity of animal lovers like you to fund 91% of our life-changing services.

Our Purpose: We exist for animals to live better lives.

About the Role

As our Salesforce Functional Consultant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring one of RSPCA Queensland’s most important business platforms continues to evolve, improve and deliver value across the organisation.

This role exists to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions – partnering with teams across RSPCA Queensland to understand challenges, improve processes and translate requirements into practical, scalable and user-friendly Salesforce solutions.

Working closely with the Product Manager – Applications, you’ll support the ongoing operation, optimisation and enhancement of our Salesforce ecosystem, helping ensure our people have the systems, tools and insights they need to deliver better outcomes for animals, supporters, volunteers and the communities we serve.

It’s a role that combines functional consulting, business analysis, stakeholder engagement and platform expertise, with equal focus on continuous improvement, user experience and operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For

You are someone who enjoys understanding how businesses operate and finding smarter ways for technology to improve processes, simplify work and enhance user experience. You’re naturally curious, solutions-focused and comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions and exploring opportunities for continuous improvement.

You’ll have experience building strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and be confident facilitating conversations, gathering requirements and communicating complex concepts in a way that makes sense to different audiences.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who thrives in collaborative environments, brings a customer-focused mindset to everything you do and can balance competing priorities while navigating complexity with confidence and sound judgement.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day administration, configuration and support across Salesforce and connected business systems.
  • Manage users, permissions, security settings and platform access to ensure a secure and effective environment.
  • Configure and maintain objects, fields, page layouts, validation rules, flows, reports, dashboards and other platform features.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business needs and deliver practical Salesforce solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and user demonstrations to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver minor enhancements and configuration changes in line with business priorities and release schedules.
  • Support testing, user acceptance activities and deployment readiness for system changes and projects.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and data extracts that support operational decision making.
  • Support data quality initiatives including duplicate management, cleansing and validation activities.
  • Assist with troubleshooting integrations across Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, websites, AnimalOS, payment platforms and other enterprise applications.
  • Work closely with the IT Service Desk, suppliers and technical teams to resolve issues and improve support outcomes.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of RSPCA Queensland’s Salesforce capability and application roadmap.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Demonstrated experience as a Salesforce Functional Consultant, Salesforce Administrator, Business Systems Analyst or similar role supporting Salesforce environments.
  • Experience translating business requirements into practical Salesforce solutions, functional specifications and user stories.
  • Strong Salesforce administration and configuration capability, including experience with objects, fields, page layouts, validation rules, flows, reports and dashboards.
  • Experience providing Level 2 and Level 3 application support within a service management environment.
  • Experience delivering system enhancements, testing activities and supporting releases or change initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting data quality initiatives, reporting and business insights through dashboards, reporting and data analysis.
  • A practical, customer-focused and solutions-oriented approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with NPSP, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, customer portals or digital engagement platforms will be highly regarded.
  • Exposure to integrations, APIs, SQL, Salesforce development or connected enterprise systems would be advantageous.
